Job Description

Summary:  Sells digital printing solutions to new clients for Documation.

Prospecting Skills include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Target businesses and organizations with the highest likelihood of purchasing Documations services
  • Develop a list of qualified business leads to contact each month
  • On a daily basis, consistently make contact with senior decision makers via email, phone, social media, in-person, etc to schedule sales appointments.
  • Consistently schedule multiple new sales meetings with new opportunities each week.

Selling Skills include the following:

  • Establish relationships with new prospects.  Accountable for qualifying new sales opportunities, presenting solutions and closing sales consistently each month.
  • Develop support from additional contacts and stakeholders within prospects organization
  • Enter and maintain account and contact information into Podio (CRM system).
  • Identifies needs of customers and potential customers regarding printed materials.
  • Educates himself/herself in all phases of customer’s business.
  • Learns and understands the customer’s needs and listens for any opportunity to sell new services to a current customer.
  • Submit job specifications into Podio – providing Estimating all information needed to create an accurate cost.
  • Create quote letter, following company guidelines and submit to prospect and/or client.
  • Follow-up with clients on open quotations, job satisfaction, etc..
  • Assists the customer in planning jobs by offering creative ideas on design, layout and binding. Service the customer by solving problems, gathering and transmitting information as needed and demanding the highest quality product.

Account Management Skills include the following:

  • Establish & maintain relationships presenting services to current clients.  Accountable for maintaining and expanding annual profitable sales to assigned customers.
  • Develop relationships with additional client contacts to assure continuity and/or sales growth.
  • Enter and maintain account and contact information into Podio.
  • Obtain completed New Customer Packet and submit to Accounting for MIS account set-up and credit approval.
  • Educate new clients on Documation’s Business Practices and Payment Requirements.
  • Coordinates newly won project specifications with assigned Account Representative. Project specifications include job specs, customer expectations, schedules, shipping and all other information needed to ensure clients satisfaction.
  • Assists the customer in planning jobs by offering creative ideas on design, layout and binding. Service the customer by solving problems, gathering and transmitting information as needed and demanding the highest quality product.
  • Assesses customer’s plans regarding future print projects, future budgets, and internal office automation or in-house marketing plans, and updates supervisor of this information.

Personal Management Skills include the following:

  • Must be able to work well with others on the sales team, production team and administrative staff
  • Must be teachable, open to feedback and coachable
  • Must be willing to gain in-depth knowledge of products, services and the industry
  • Must be able to effectively manage his/her time and maintain a balance between servicing existing clients and closing new business.
  • Must be self-disciplined and self-motivated to achieve sales quotas and other organizational goals.
  • Must be organized, detail oriented and maintain excellent communication with prospects and customers.
  • Attends scheduled sales meetings and participates in training.

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
